this string only has one end
the other is a ball
we watch this ball unravel
eventually it ties us all
but can the ball be paid out fully
can I complete that from
which I came I move through ways to
leave my brain in hopes I fix my
broken ways that determine the
words I use to speak my self-hatred
and guilty feelings about
what I’ve degraded my soul to
progress moves in one direction
its starting point anchored in place
we move away from old ways
toward unsure place we point our brains
so watch what we’ve been thinking about
watch what we throw our ball at
sometimes it breaks through a window
sometimes bounces back off brick wall
this world only has one end
the other leads where no man sees
finite minds feel confused when
patterns and cycles deceive
it seems that history repeats and
seems like lessons lie within that
truth we repeat problem-solving
in phoniness we feel resolved then
wonder why we can’t sleep at night
wonder why our loved ones make us
cry and scream out inner monsters
surging guilt and violent anger

idiom without explanation
I’m feeling depressed but nobody told me why
what you invest in is what returns in life
in unexpected form, it doesn’t seem worth its price
better safe than sorry - the anthem
of a man who didn’t crack under the torment of regret
“to get ahead,” he says, “simply do what I did......”
pull your covers tight, and kill yourself goodnight
one size doesn’t fit all
any size rarely fits
what’s good for the gander gets a goose-egg for his bitch
one man’s trash holds a prostitute’s hand
fairy tales are moral
with dishonest happy ends
irksome in life: we never find out what was led
the mouth opens but can’t explain the head
we know hearts make a mess
neurotic brains obsess
you can’t love another until you love yourself
until internal peace, mad war projects
posters lining walls in a madhouse
you think for one moment then life starts to collapse in
question the bright sky, sunlight burns your eyes
what we fear the most is what we make to happen
finally we listen
we hear out our own thoughts
man is part of nature: his sacred carcass rots
to function as designed can’t be judged “wrong”
enslaved by one’s own coating (coding)
links don’t break their chain
the sick cycle of humans: nutrition leads to waste
Ernest taught us how to flow: embrace this peaceful horrorshow
