don’t seem charismatic now

all the rules you’ve been adhering to
run like houses down a muddy slope

gloom is not so catchy now
disaffected just seems weak
look at how they frown alone
do they ever feel a thing?
is conformance warm and safe?
does cortisol ever drain?
live and die by your own rules
subjugated or stalked and slain
nothing in the world is unnatural
termites must destroy a home
all the debts that you’ve been burdened by
dissolved in air now you can stand up straight

snuck out away from the nest
we flock to the woods with guns
soon to be gobbled alive
slaves freed from crushing safety
freedom can only be short-lived
all the structures you lived in fear under
topple down now you bake in the sun

listen to caught deer
bleat out through torn guts
sociopathic stare
proteins flood the mouth

free to be and do
Essence gained at a high cost
win, then fix with loss
Man thrives in the loop

see the predator smelling the warm soft places

freedom does not mesh well with comfort

what suffering can you stand?
what pain do you volunteer for?
